Early Life
Tuna was abandoned by his original owner near San Diego. Traumatized by the abandonment, he developed a habit of crawling on his belly; because of this, his rescuers called him "Worm."
At around four months old, Tuna was brought to a farmers market in Los Angeles by a rescue center, where Courtney Dasher saw and adopted him. She decided to change his name from "Worm" to "Mr. Burns" due to his resemblance to the character from The Simpsons.
Tuna Melt
Dasher initially only intended to foster the dog, but after one week, she decided to keep him. Over time, he was affectionately called "Tunie," which later became "Tuna." She created an Instagram page for him and featured his photos on a company website, which led to a massive increase in followers.
